John A. Logan College - Carterville, IL BioThis is a dead LiveJournal account that I leave open for two reasons:
1. It's fairly old. There's a big gap in it, but it covers a pretty large chunk of my adolescence.
2. I still poke about on my friends page with great infrequency.
All that you need to know about me is this: I am extremely happy, and I mean that sincerely. I finally feel comfortable with where I am in life, the road I'm on, the inevitable obstacles, and the company I keep. I am confident and collected. I spend startlingly little time online for someone of my age, and I hate MySpace with a firey, burning passion. I also have an account. (Don't bother looking me up on it- there's no way to identify me.)
I am inaccessible through the internet, or just about any other way unless you have my address or cell phone number. I don't give either out freely anymore.
Which brings me to what was the key to my personal happiness. To each his own, but a couple of things worked wonders for me.
1. Avoid stupid adolescent drama. I have rid my life of it completely. To say that I am happier for the choice is a gross understatement.
2. Get out. Live. Do something. Staying cooped up in the house day in and day out drives me wild. Drive to a different state on a whim. Drive across two states for coffee. It's fun, and once you find someone who is willing to go those miles with you, it makes it that much better.
So, consider this a graveyard of adolescence. I've moved on, I've found better things, and I don't plan on returning except for the occassional memory. There's a lot to see and do out there. Far too much to spend ones time moping and being depressed.
